Arthropoda Arachnida Araneae Agelenidae Tegenaria agrestis
Commonly known as the Hobo Spider. This spider primarily builds funnel webs. It native to Europe and was introduced to the Northwest in the early 20th century. It is not often found off of the ground but from June until September males do wander in order to find mates. There is debate over both the aggressiveness and nature of the venom in this spider. However, there is no evidence suggesting that its venom is particularly aggressive or poisonous to humans.
